Detailed plans for hospice and first homes approved

13 Nov 2017

Mid Sussex District Council have approved detailed plans for a new care facility for St Catherine’s Hospice, 156 new homes, and community hub at Pease Pottage.

The application, submitted by locally-based housebuilder Thakeham Homes marks the first phase of a larger development approved by the Council in 2016.

The new hospice will ensure that St Catherine’s will have a facility that allows them to serve the community for many years to come. The new facility will include a larger number of rooms, as well as outpatient treatment, therapy rooms, and gardens.

The new homes will include a mix of houses, bungalows and apartments to meet local needs, including 48 affordable homes. The community hub will feature a shop, café and meeting rooms, all to be managed by St Catherine’s for the benefit of the community.
